Nagpur: On the occasion of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) inaugurated a Control Room near the Sahitya Bhushan Annabhau Sathe’s statue on Friday, to assist the followers visiting Deekshabhoomi.
Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari, Municipal Commissioner, inaugurated the help room on Friday morning. A booklet detailing the municipality’s facilities was also released at the event.
Anchal Goyal, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Dr Milind Meshram and Gajendra Mahalle, Deputy Commissioners and other senior officials were present at the inauguration. Dr Chaudhari emphasised the NMC’s commitment to ensuring that devotees have smooth and pleasant experience. He addressed that cleanliness be maintained, safety measures enforced, and that any complaints or suggestions from citizens be addressed promptly.
NMC is providing essential services including, health check-up centres, 24-hour ambulance support, clean drinking water, sanitation staff, fire brigade services, CCTV surveillance and transport facilities from October 11 to 14, to accommodate the large influx of Buddhist followers.
