Nagpur: The first Mayor of Nagpur Bar Sheshrao Wankhede and for President of Jansangh Pandit Bachharaj Vyas were paid rich tributes by Nagpur Municipal Corporation on their birth anniversaries today.
Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar and Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Singare garlanded the statue of Bar Sheshrao Wankhede situated at the lawns of Central Office of NMC in Civil Lines and paid their tributes.
On the occasion, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr R Z Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jayant Dandegaonkar, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Madan Gadge, Corporation Secretary Harish Dubey, Corporation Superintendent Fago Uike, Vilas Fadnavis, Raju Kale, Surendra Murkute and others were present.
Similarly, the composer of “Dhyey Sadhna Amar Rahe, Ham Din Char Rahe Na Rahe” Pandit Bachharaj Vyas, former President of Jansangh, was paid rich tributes by Mayor Pravin Datke, Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar and others on his birth anniversary today. Datke and Pokulwar garlanded the bust of Pandit Vyas at Badkas Square and paid their tributes.
Others who were present on the occasion include President of Pt Bachharaj Vyas Pratishtan and State BJP Spokesman Girish Vyas, Corporator Rajesh Ghodpage, former Corporators Shripad Risaldar, Krushna Enpreddiwar, Dadhichi Samaj’s Umadatta Bhabda, Adv Kailash Vyas, Maheshdatta Bhabda, Satyanarayan Joshi, and others in large number.
