Ruling party leader in NMC Dayashankar Tiwari on Friday took charge of the office in presence of Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Mayor Praveen Datke. Tiwari extended his thanks to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, saying that an important responsibility has been entrusted on him. He said that his priority would be to improvise financial health of civic body. He also said that there are 42 roads in city, the onus of maintaining which lies upon the State Government while that 112 roads are undertaken by both state and central governments. He also raised demand of funds from Bawankule for the speedy development and repair of roads in Nagpur.
He said that he would adhere to Gadkari’s demand of doing up cement concrete roads and the funds left over after accomplishing the project would be utilised in generating resources to make Nagpur an education hub.
Those present on the occasion were MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh, Sameer Meghe, Krishna Khopde, Sudhakar Kohle, MLC Anil Sole, Kalpana Pande, Maya Ivnate, Dr Vijay Tiwari, Gopal Bohra, Ramesh Shingare and others.
