Nagpur News: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has selected four banks namely Bank of Maharashtra, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and IDBI Bank for Local Body Tax (LBT) payment by traders and other LBT payers. NMc further said, the facility for paying LBT has been made in all the branches of above mentioned banks in Nagpur.
The NMC Commissioner held a meeting of top bosses of the selected banks and were represented by Punit Sehgal, Business Banking Head, Axis Bank, Jitendra Mujumdar, Regional Head, IDBI Bank, Gabra, Chief Zonal Manager, Bank of Maharashtra, and Venugopal Srinivasan Additional Chief Manager of ICICI Bank with all the Managers of branches of the selected banks.
The NMC has implemented the LBT from April 1, 2013 according to a decision of enforcement of the LBT by the Maharashtra Government. And, accordingly, the LBT for the month has to be deposited in the any of the selected banks the next month between 1st and 20th of the month. The NMC Commissioner has appealed the authorities of the selected banks to take proper care so that the traders who had come to their banks for LBT payment are not put into any sort of difficulty. The banks also have been directed to keep adequate number of bank challans and properly guide the traders who might face in filling up of the challans for payment of LBT.
The selected banks have been asked to provide information on the figures of LBT payment on daily basis to Chief of NMC’s LBT Department through their respective Branch Managers.
