Addressing the attendees, Dr. Choudhary underscored the NMC’s dedication to reducing harmful gas emissions, highlighting the importance of clean energy sources. He articulated the city’s commitment to aligning with the evolving landscape of transportation, especially with the projected surge in EV usage by 2025.

As part of its broader strategy, the NMC is actively phasing out polluting public vehicles within its bus fleet, with a concerted effort to replace them with electric vehicles. Dr. Choudhary’s announcement reflects a forward-looking approach, aligning the city’s transportation infrastructure with global trends favoring electric mobility.

Anticipating the widespread proliferation of electric vehicles in the coming years, the NMC is collaborating with various agencies to deploy a network of 150 electric charging stations strategically placed across Nagpur. The move aims to ensure that citizens experience seamless and convenient charging options, thereby addressing potential concerns related to EV adoption.

Anchal Goyal, Additional Municipal Commissioner, shared insights into further collaborative efforts, stating that the NMC and Maha Metro are actively considering the appointment of a Nodal Officer. This officer would play a pivotal role in integrating the public transport services of both entities, fostering a more cohesive and efficient transportation system.
