Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner and Administrator, Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, initiated a tree plantation drive using the Miyawaki method at Ujjwal Nagar Garden in the city. In a joint effort NMC, Young Indians Nagpur Chapter, and CII Nagpur, more than 700 trees of various species will be planted in a 4,200 square feet area at Ujjwal Nagar.

Mahesh Gabhane from Mukta Associates studied the soil conditions of the garden before planting the trees. The trees were provided courtesy of SMS Company, and the garden will be maintained by contractor Swapnil Ashtikar, appointed by NMC’s Garden Department.
