Nagpur: Waking up to the condition of Sakkardara lake which has been entirely covered with weeds giving no trace of water body, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has finally decided to clean the lake which was once the beauty spot in the area.
NMC will taking up the task in association with Clean Foundation, Patanjali Yog Samiti, and Sonzari Mitra Mandal to mark Atal Sewa Saptah between December 22 and 25.

The decision related to the drive was taken in a meeting held on December 21. BJP city president and South Nagpur MLA Sudhakar Kohle, leader of opposition Tanaji Wanve, chairperson of Nehru Nagar Zone Rita Mule, Deepraj Nilawar from Clean Foundation, Ishwar Dhurde from Sakkardara Beautification Committee and others were present. Kohle urged citizens to participate in the drive in large numbers. The drive will kick-off at 9am on December 22.
