NMC’s accountant booked for Rs 7.42 lakh fraud

Nagpur News : An accountant of NMC’s zone 2 office at Dharampeth was booked by Ambazari police for allegedly cheating the government to the tune of Rs 7.42 lakhs.

Deepak Patil, former additional in-charge of accountant duped the amount of various taxes charged by NMC. Patil, during his duty period from December 2008 to July 2011, reshuffled the amount in his relatives account instead of depositing it in government’s account.

The matter came to light during a recent review.
