Nagpur: The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has maximised efforts to tackle public nuisances, registering 85 cases on Wednesday and recovered a total sum of Rs 66,300 in fines from the violators.
The violations included littering, illegal dumping, and the use of plastic bags below the permissible thickness. 18 cases were related to unsanitary practices by vendors, resulting in fines of Rs 7,200, among other cases.
Further fines included Rs 15,000 for Vanbros Construction and Rs 10,000 each for R R Associate and Alliant Infrastructures for dumping construction materials. Additional fines were imposed for unauthorised advertising and the use of plastic bags by several businesses.
This operation was conducted by Veersen Tambe, Chief of the Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS), to enhance public cleanliness and order, reflecting the city’s commitment to maintaining a cleaner environment. The investigation team will continue to monitor and enforce regulations to discourage such nuisances in the future.
