Nagpur: Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has been working for making Nagpur, a smart city. Residential city will be developed by NMRCL close to metro line on Wardha road near Butibori. It will also construct three stations as an extension of Majhi metro. One of them will be Metro City Station. This will be the junction of Majhi metro. On the lines of Hong Kong Metro, the city will be developed. Besides the metro other facilities like commercial complex and residential area will be developed. For this station the metro has about 26 acres of land. In which smart city will be developed.
Hafeez Contractor to prepare the model
NMRCL has already begun work for developing a smart city. Well known Architect Hafeez Contractor has been appointed to prepare the design of smart city’s model. Right from the beginning Hafeez Contractor’s company is associated with the metro. The company has started the work of preparing the design of eco-park.
50 per cent to be generated from property development
According to Maha Metro MD Brijesh Dixit the 50 per cent of Nagpur metro project’s cost will be generated from property development. From this it is sure that all the projects will be completed with the metro project. He informed that the Hong Kong metro had generated 40 per cent of the cost through property development. Going one step ahead, Nagpur will generate 50 per cent of the cost from property development.
