No student for Video Programming course this year in Nagpur;Course discontinued in Chandrapur

Nagpur News : The job oriented courses in Journalism and Mass Communication in Nagpur and Chandrapur have failed to attract the youths in this field. This year, no student is enrolled for the P G Diploma in Video Programming (News and Current Affairs), in MA Mass Communication Department of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University while the course has been discontinued from Chandrapur University. It is learnt that there were all the required books and other material available in Nagpur, yet the College failed to attract the youths.

P G Diploma in Video Programming (News and Current Affairs) is a one year course. News Gathering and News Reporting, Editing and Script Writing, Interview and Discussion, Quiz on Current Affairs, Documentary on Current Affairs, Projection and Production, Principle of Communication Development and Comparison of Mass Media etc. are the subjects taught in this one year course. Technical instruments including Camera, I-Mac of Apple, computers are available in the college for the facility of the students. The course is being conducted in Campus of RTMNU and LRT Bhonsale College, Chandrapur.

It is to be mentioned that the course was started in 1996 in Nagpur University and 18 students took admission for the course. But, no student took admission in this course for the year 2012-13. There are 25 seats available for course and an Rs 20,000 fees is charged for the course. Unlike Nagpur, the course was started in Chandrapur but no facility was provided to the students. The students even had to come to Nagpur for their practical examinations. According to the information, last year, in all 22 students took admission for this course but no student cleared the examination.
