Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Nagpur Crime Branch arrested a notorious drug peddler, Iqbal Sheikh, and seized 50.81 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 5.08 lakh from his possession in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to police sources, the sleuths of the Anti-Narcotics Cell were on patrolling duty when they intercepted Iqbal (40), a resident of Juna Bidipeth. Iqbal had three more offences against him under the NDPS Act. Subsequently, upon checking, cops found around 50 grams of MD drugs in Iqbal’s possession.

On further interrogation, Iqbal told cops that Istiyak Khadim, a resident of Motha Tajbag, and Wasim alias Guddu, a resident of Motha Tajbag, had helped him to get his hands on MD drugs. Following this, cops have launched a manhunt for both accused.
An offence under Sections 8(C), 22(B), 29 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused. Further investigation is ongoing.
Under the guidance of senior officials, the squad of PI Gajanan Gulhane, API Siddharth Patil, Police Constables Manoj Neware, Nitin Salunkhe, and Police Amaldar Rohit Kale, Subhash Gajbhiye made the arrest.
