Nagpur/Chandrapur: A day after a tigress was found dead in Shivni buffer range, a tiger cub was found dead in Moharli buffer range of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) on Thursday evening. The feline has been identified as a nearly seven months old female T-60, reports said.
According to reports, the carcass of the cub was discovered in compartment No. 189. The carcass was brought to Transit Treatment Centre (TTC) in Chandrapur for post-mortem. Autopsy carried out by Dr Podchalwar and Dr Bawne in the presences of CCF and Field Director, TATR, Jitendra Ramgaonkar, NTCA representative Bandu Dhotre and PCCF (Wildlife) representative Mukesh Bhandakkar confirmed death in fight.
The injuries found on the body of the cub and signs of scuffle noticed on the scene also corroborate the theory of death in fight. Later, the remains were incinerated at the TTC in the presence of witnesses.
