Now, burglars target Ghantiwala shop; spate of thefts rock Sitabuldi traders

Nagpur: A spate of burglaries in recent times is forcing traders in Sitabuldi market spend sleepless nights. The businessmen in Modi No. 1, 2, 3, are being specifically targeted by the anti-socials with impunity. First it was Sakhi Collection in Modi No. 2, then Dynamic Hub in Modi No. 3 and now Ghantiwala Sweetmeat Shop became the victim of burglary havoc. Fortunately, the theft got captured in CCTV cameras installed at the shop.

According to the owner of the Ghantiwala Shop, Harshit Gupta, dealing in sweets and snacks, and situated at Hanuman Galli in Sitabuldi, opened the shop as usual at 8 am on Saturday. Shockingly, Gupta found cash of Rs 10,000 missing from cash counter of his shop. He immediately scanned the CCTV camera and noticed an unidentified person breaking the shutter with the help of a gas cutter at 4.38 am. The footage of CCTV camera further showed the person lighting the torch and searching for the cash counter.

Theft in Ghantiwala Shop (1)The burglar laid his hands on Rs 10,000 and then vanished from the shop. Gupta immediately alerted Sitabuldi cops about the theft. A team of policemen reached the sweetmeat shop and started their investigation. Cops have procured the CCTV camera footage and trying to pinpoint the identity of the burglar.
