Nagpur: In a significant move, the State Excise Department will now issue various licenses/permits online. At the same time, a ‘Suvidha App’ has also been launched by the department for citizens who wish to lodge their complaints. The facility was inaugurated by State Excise Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule in Mumbai on Tuesday in the presence of Minister of State Vijay Deshmukh.
The function was organized at the office of State Excise Commissioner. Present on the occasion were Excise Commissioner V Radha and senior officials. The Online Services System to issue licenses/permits was developed through Mahaonline. Through this system, the liquor sale licenses, wholesale liquor licenses ad medical liquor consumption permits will be issued Online Services. The website is www.stateexcise.maharashtra.gov.in.

The liquor sale permits and the charges to be levied will also be accepted online. Since the all the documents will be checked online, there will be no scope for any corrupt practice. Various permits for Permit Room, Beer Bar and Beer Shops will also be issued online. Application can be made from any place and charges can also be paid online.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on October 2 launched Whatsapp and Toll Free number for citizens to lodge their complaints. The said mobile app can be downloaded by the name of ‘Excise-complaints’ on ‘google-app store.’ The facility got activated from today. Citizens can also lodge their complaints on Toll Free 18008333333 and Whatsapp No. 8422001133.
