Nagpur: To mark the celebration of India’s 75th year of Independence, Central and State Governments have decided to provide vaccinations at citizens’ doorsteps. In Nagpur also, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has begun free of cost COVID-19 booster dose for the people above 18 years of age.
The booster doses will be provided by the team of the Health Department by visiting the citizens’ homes. The drive will run for the next 75 days. Apart from 50 centres, a team of 90 nurses, verifiers, Asha workers has been set up. Government offices, schools, colleges, malls, private establishments, industries can conduct vaccination camps for which they can contact the Health Department of NMC.
First and second dose of vaccination plus booster dose are available at the centres of NMC and other Government centres free of cost. Covishield vaccine will be given from Monday to Saturday at all centres while Covaxin will be given at GMCH, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital and Research Centre and at 7 centres.
Corbevax vaccine will be administered to the children of age group between 12 and 15 years at all centres on every Saturday. People completing 18 years of age and having taken both doses six months ago should come forward for booster doses, appealed Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner.
