Nagpur News : A 52-year-old man, employed as a clerk of Psychological department of Nagpur University Campus was booked for allegedly molesting a young girl in the department on Wednesday afternoon.
Krishna Katwate was arrested by Ambazari police after the 24-year-old girl lodge a police complaint. The girl claimed that she was being pressurised and forced by the University staff not to file a police complaint.
“They said that it’s just a minor case and were trying to convince me to forgive him. If I let him go today, he will continue the same tomorrow with another girl,” said the victim who remained firm on her decision to file a police complaint. She was supported by her family members to go against the NU staff who had gathered at police station to convince her.
The girl told that around 2 pm, she had gone to submit the admission form for the first year in M.A Psychology. “First, I submit eligibility certificate to him. Later, when I asked him where to submit the form, he told me to come to the office in adjacent room,” informed the victim.
The complainant said that Katwate had offered her a chair and also dragged his chair next to her instead of sitting on the other side of the table. “He first touched my hands in sensual manner while giving a whitener to me. Later, after the work when I stood up to go, he touched my cheeks and uttered some indecent words. I rushed out of the room and informed my brother on phone,” told the girl.
He victim said that she was panicked and frightened by the incident and thus immediately ran out of the NU campus. She heaved a sigh of relief after her brother took her to cops to file a complaint.
