Nagpur: Acting swiftly on the complaints of disrupting communal harmony levelled against Bhandara Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) rank officer, Suprintendant of Police (SP) Lohit Matani has suspended accused the cop identified as Sachin Suryavanshi.
Suryavanshi was booked by Kotwali police for allegedly uploading an objectionable post against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his social media account.

PSI Suryavanshi was transferred to Bhandara district last year from Nagpur. He had uploaded a status on WhatsApp against PM Modi. He has also been accused of uploading such offensive posts in the past too.
After seeing the status, a Mahal resident approached the Kotwali police and submitted a complaint against the officer. The Kotwali police have registered a case under the relevant Section of Information Technology Act.
Following the incident, SP Matani acted swiftly and suspended PSI Suryawanshi. Bhandara cops have also initiated departmental enquiry against the accused cop, the Bhandara Top Cop informed Nagpur Today.
