Obscene acts: NMC’s Chief Fire Officer Uchake arrested by Chhattisgarh Police

Nagpur: Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested Rajendra Uchake, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Nagpur Municipal Corporation, in connection with a case registered against him at Rajnandgaon following a complaint lodged by a young married woman.

The woman had alleged that he was sending obscene messages and pornographic videos on her cell phone. Rajnandgaon Police had registered a case under Section 506 (b), 509 (b) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 67 (a) of the Information Technology Act against him following the woman’s complaint.

Uchake had earlier claimed that the woman’s husband attempted to blackmail him by demanding Rs 1 crore. Following Uchake’s complaint, the Crime Branch of Nagpur Police had trapped her husband. A police team from Rajnandgaon arrived in the city and took Uchake into custody.

Earlier it was reported that through Facebook, a Chhattisgarh-based Amit Soni and a highly educated Nagpur girl met and fell in love. In 2021, they both got married. The girl and Uchake were acquaintances. They previously used Whatsapp to communicate. However, Uchake began transmitting obscene messages and videos as of June 17, 2022. Along with this, he also sent his porn videos and audios, the complaint filed by the woman said.

According to the complaint, Uchake started pressuring her to have physical relations. When the young woman asked him to stop, he threatened to kill her along with her family, telling her that he was an officer. The complaint stated that due to such threats the complainant suffered a lot of mental anguish and thoughts of suicide crossed her mind. Subsequently the Rajnandgaon police had registered a case under Section 506 (b), 509 (b) and 67 (a) of the IT Act.
