Nagpur: Jaripatka Police in Nagpur arrested a murder convict for allegedly raping a woman and her minor daughter after being released on parole from Central Jail.
Identified as Kunal Bharat Goswami (33), the accused is a resident of Jaripatka. Goswami was undergoing imprisonment in the jail after he was convicted by the court in a murder case registered at Jaripatka Police Station in 2014. After Goswami was released on parole from the jail, he went to the house of the 43-year-old woman who was known to him. On April 24 last year, he allegedly established physical relations with the woman without her consent. Again on January 25 this year, Goswami went to her house when she was alone and sexually assaulted her. He then thrashed the woman’s 14-year-old daughter and also allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Goswami then left the place threatening to kill the minor girl if she narrated the incident to anyone. Following a complaint lodged by the woman, police registered a case under Sections 376, 376(2)(n), 376(3), 452, 323, 504, 506(b) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 4,8, 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and took Goswami into custody.
Gym trainer booked for rape & cheating
A 42-year-old gym trainer, Rohit Pandey, was arrested on Saturday by Pardi police following rape and cheating charges levelled by his former colleague. The survivor, also a gym trainer, was allegedly made to cough up Rs 6.60 lakh by Pandey on the pretext of setting up a gym. The survivor has claimed that Pandey had sexually exploited her since 2019 promising marriage.
Their relationship continued till March last year during which he exploited her on a number of occasions. The survivor approached the cops after Pandey started avoiding her and also refused to marry her.
The accused Rohit Sanjay Pandey, a resident of Hudkeshwar exploited the woman also by threatening to circulate her offensive pictures on social media. Using a compromising photograph taken under the guise of marriage, Rohit raped the woman.
