Nagpur: Three persons were killed in road accidents in Sadar, MIDC and Jaripatka areas on Wednesday. One accused has been arrested while two others have been booked.
In the first instance, a cyclist was killed on the spot after he was hit by a rashly driven car late Wednesday night under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station. The deceased Ashok Mahadev Narnawre, a resident of House No. 22, new colony, has heading for his duty on his bicycle on Wednesday at around 9 pm. A rashly driven and uncontrolled car came from the turn towards Mangalwari market, Ring Road and hit Ashok. He breathed his last on the spot with the impact of the accident. And the car driver escaped the scene fearing public wrath.
Commuter informed Sadar police who reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital after performing panchanama. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 304 (a) read with sub sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act.
In the second case, rash driving proved fatal to an Activa rider when he hit the vehicle to the road divider and died on the spot. The accident took place on Wednesday at 4.30 pm under the jurisdiction of MIDC police station. According to information, the deceased Narendra Gendappa Padkar (40) was a resident of Gajanan Nagar, near Rajiv Nagar, in front of Petrol Pump, MIDC. On Wednesday, Narendra was riding his Activa (MH 40 W 9989) when he lost control of the rashly driven vehicle and dashed into the road divider in front of Sugandh Agarbatti shop, on the way towards Takiya wale Baba Dargah. Narendra was killed on the spot with the impact of the accident.
MIDC police have registered an offence under Sections 279, 304 (a) of the IPC.
In the last instance, a car driver was arrested for colliding his car into a motorcycle and resulting into the death of the motorcyclist. The accident occurred at 7.45 pm on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka police station.
The deceased has been identified as Lakhan Uddhav Mhaske (23), a resident of Jaripatka while the accused is Manish Shankarlal Wadhwani who is a resident of Netaji Square, Kamptee. According to information, Lakhan was coming towards Nagpur on his motorcycle (MH 40 B 1200) when an Omni car coming from the opposite direction collided into the motorcycle. Commuters rushed Lakhan to hospital and handed over the culprit to Jaripatka police. However, doctors declared Lakhan dead during preliminary treatment.
Jaripatka police have arrested Manish Wadhwani and registered an offence under Sections 279 and 304 (a) of the IPC.
