One injured as truck collides with tanker coming from wrong side near Kondhali

Nagpur: A truck driver was seriously injured when his vehicle collided with a tanker near Kondhali on Nagpur-Amravati Road on Friday. The tanker was reportedly coming from the wrong side, said Kondhali police.

According to police, the accident occurred at 4.30 pm when the tanker (MH-40/AK-0468) loaded with consignment of liquid explosive was coming to Kondhali from the wrong side. Driver of the truck (GJ-25/U-5518) failed to control the vehicle resulting in a head-on collision between the truck and the tanker.

As the impact was strong, the truck ran into a the road side nullah and turned turtle while the tanker jumped the road divider. A mob of villagers gathered at the spot after the accidents. Some of them rescued drivers of both the vehicles.
The injured truck driver was admitted at hospital.

Staff of Kondhali Police Station rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic jam. Police have registered offence under relevant sections of the IPC and MVA against the accused tanker driver.
