Nagpur: Kalpana Saroj Global Aviation Pvt Ltd (KSGA) is a project promoted by Mumbai-based entrepreneur Kalpana Saroj, who is known for her rags to riches story. The company had announced ambitious plans for a Rs 4,000 crore investment in the Nagpur project in the Mihan-SEZ. However, KSGA’s letter of approval (LOA) for conducting business in the SEZ had lapsed in August 2022 and the company has not yet communicated about renewing it, according to a report in a local English daily.

The report further said that the death of a key official involved in direct implementation of the project, who was a former pilot, has put the plans on hold. KSGA had plans to forge a joint venture with an American company for carrying out maintenance of US’s CJ-130 Hercules aircraft flown by the IAF. The facility would also cater to civilian aircraft and start charter services and train students. However, the report reveals that the company has not started any work, including construction.
