Nagpur: Acting swiftly on inputs, a squad of Pachpaoli cops, led by Senior Police Inspector Ashok Meshram, raided Silver Beer Bar in Vaishali Nagar and busted betting racket on IPL matches on Wednesday night. The raiding cops found six persons busy on betting over a match being played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
The six gamblers, identified as Kapil Motwani of Teka, Ashwin Jaiswal of Kamal Square, Nikhil Dongre of Vishwas Nagar, Jaripatka, Rajkumar Nagrale of Balabhaupeth, Surendra Doifode of Balabhaupeth and Dilip Khobragade, also a resident of Balabhaupeth.

The six accused were watching telecast of match being played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on Star Sports channel and betting on various aspects of the game. Cops have seized total seven mobile phones, LCD TV, two bikes collectively worth Rs 1.66 lakh.
The six accused have been booked under relevant Sections of Maharashtra Gambling Prevention Act and placed under arrest.
The raid was conducted by Senior PI Ashok Meshram, API Surose, PSI P R Ingle, ASI Sanjay Wankhede, NPCs Aviraj Bhagwat, Sachin Bhimte, Vinod Gaekwad, Pravin Wakode under the guidance of DCP Rahul Maknikar and ACP Walchandra Mundhe.
