Nagpur: The terror of stray dogs has gripped doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) as within span of two-hours a pack of dogs attacked and injured two resident doctors here, on Sunday.
At around 8 pm, a female resident doctor was heading towards her hostel when she was attacked by four to five dogs in the parking area outside the office of GMCH Superintendent. Other doctors and staff present on the spot rushed to rescue her. However, the doctor had suffered deep injuries due to dog bites. Following this, another doctor was attacked by a group of stray dogs. Both the doctors were admitted to the GMCH’s emergency department.
These incidents have instilled fear among doctors. The stray dogs have started reaching the wards along with GMCH premises. No necessary steps are being taken by the GMCH administration to deal with the menace of stray dogs, sources said.
