Nagpur: The youth of the country is a National asset and its development is a task of great significance and importance. National Cadet Corps plays a key role in development of youth and nation building. In this context the role of NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee assumes greater dimension, in “Training the Trainer” i.e, the teachers and lecturers from Institutes Spread across the country and groom them into Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), who in turn train cadets of the NCC.

A joint passing out parade for Pre-commission & Direct Commission ANOs of Senior and Junior Division NCC was held on 21 Mar 2015 at NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee with the traditional military grandeur and decorum. The impressive Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Air Marshal Ajit S Bhonsle AVSM VSM, Dy Chief IDS (DOT). The Ceremony was witnessed by a number of service and civilian dignitaries, distinguished guests, relatives of officer cadets, school children and NCC Cadets. The Parade was followed by The “Pipping Ceremony” wherein badges of ranks were worn by the 252 successful trainees commissioned as ANOs.

The officer cadets went through a rigorous training programme of three months duration to empower them to conduct NCC training efficiently in their respective units. These academicians trained into Associate NCC Officers showed their mettle in an impressive March Past to the tune of “Sare Jahan Se Accha” rendered by the Maratha Light Inf Centre Band. The Brass band regaled the spectators with the exquisite quality of tunes played on a range of instruments.

The Awards were given to the following Officer Cadets by Air Marshal Ajit S Bhonsle AVSM VSM, Dy Chief IDS (DOT) :-

Senior Division

(a) Lt Abduladil Abdulhamid Kazi of Gujarat Directorate, was awarded DG’s Baton for being 1st in Order of Merit.

(b) Lt Akshay Deepakrao Mandlik of Karnataka & Goa Directorate, was awarded Comdt’s Silver Medal for being 2nd in Order of Merit.

(c ) Lt Raghuveer Raghumahanti of Uttarakhand Directorate, was awarded Comdt’s Bronze Medal for being 3rd in Order of Merit.

Junior Division

(a) O/C Dhirendra Singh Pathania of Punjab, Hariyana, HP & Chandigarh Directorate, was awarded DG’s Baton for being 1st in Order of Merit.

(b) T/O Vijay Singh Purawat of MP & CG Directorate, was awarded Comdt’s Silver Medal for being 2nd in Order of Merit.

(c) T/O Deepak M Poria of Maharashtra Directorate, was awarded Comdt’s Bronze Medal for being 3rd in Order of Merit.

Parade was commanded by Lt Akshay Deepakrao Mandlik of Kar & Goa Directorate
