Nagpur: The strike of the resident doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Indira Gandhi Government College and Hospital (IGGMC) aka Mayo Hospital, entered the fourth day on Tuesday.
With the prolonged strike increasing, patients who come to the OPD are facing troubles. This has contributed to the faltering of two of the biggest healthcare institutions assisting financially deprived.
Although senior doctors have joined hands with graduate doctors appointed for house officers, to extend services to patients, the lack of manpower is hampering the OPD. The reason for this is that the resident doctors have a direct connection with the patients coming to the OPD. The resident doctors were constantly treating these patients on a regular basis.
Now, with new doctors in place, they are not able to coordinate with other doctors. Due to which the effect is visible on medicine, infant, gynecology and obstetrics, neuro, neuro surgery, surgery, ENT, ophthalmology department, oncology, cardiology OPD. No one has the answer when this problem of patients will be solved.
