Patole demands CM’s resignation over Nagpur land scam issue

Nagpur : Even on the second day of the winter session, the Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders adopted an aggressive stance against the Shinde-Fadnavis government.

When Shinde was the urban development minister, massive irregularities took place concerning a plot of land worth Rs 100 crore in Nagpur. Courts have also criticised the chief minister in this case. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole said that CM Eknath Shinde has no right to sit on the chair even for a minute, so he should resign immediately.

How can he stay on in office when his name is being dragged in a plot scam of such enormous magnitude? During the Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s tenure, the then ministers Anil Deshmukh and Sanjay Rathod resigned as soon as serious allegations were levelled against them. So why is the Chief Minister not resigning when there is such a serious charge against him and the court is also taking cognisance of the matter? Patole said that CM Eknath Shinde should resign. Same opinion is being expressed by leaders of other opposition parties. The opposition will raise this demand in the House as well.

Before the start of the second day of the session, a meeting of the senior leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition and other legislators was held at the Congress party office in the legislature. In this meeting, the strategy for further course of action to be taken by legislators belonging to the opposition parties was chalked out.

Former CM Uddhav Thackeray, LoP Ajit Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat, MPCC President Nana Patole, Former CM Ashok Chavan, ex CM Prithviraj Chavan, NCP State President Jayant Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse Patil, LoP in legislative council Ambadas Danve and others were present in the meeting. MVA leaders chanted slogans such as, ‘Samyukta Maharashtra Jhalach Pahije’, ‘Pannas Khoke, Ekdam Ok’, ‘Mukhyamantri Rajinama Dya’ on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan.
