Nagpur: The ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas – Silver Jubilee’ multimedia photo exhibition, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, was grandly inaugurated at VMV College. The event featured a speech and painting competition, showcasing the talents of the students.
Retired Air Vice Marshal Suryakant Chafekar, the chief guest, expressed that every Indian citizen harbors as much patriotism as soldiers. He emphasized that while soldiers display their patriotism daily through their duties, ordinary citizens have fewer opportunities. This exhibition, he noted, allows common citizens to express their patriotism.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Yogeshbhai Patel, President of Nagpur Gujarati Mandal, with notable attendees including Saurabh Khekde, Field Publicity Officer of the Central Bureau of Communication, and Dr. Abhay Mudgal, Incharge-Principal of VMV College. The program was conducted by Dr. Sonali Bhagat, who also delivered the vote of thanks. Teachers, staff, and students of the college were in prominent attendance. Following the ceremony, students participated enthusiastically in painting and oratory competitions.
Mr. Chafekar shared inspirational stories from his service, particularly during the Kargil War, where the Air Force played a crucial role in securing victory. He encouraged students to stay true to their goals, invoking the phrase ‘Satyamev Jayate’ as a guiding principle during difficult times.
On Saturday, July 27, Retired Major General AP Bam will interact with the students, sharing his insights and awarding the winners of the competitions. Advocate Sanjaybhai Thakker, General Secretary of Nagpur Gujarati Mandal, will also be present at the event.
