Nagpur: Seems that Maharashtra is set to witness another political muddle in the state as NCP leader and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar met chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis late Wednesday night.
As per sources, the meeting lasted for almost an hour. Speculations rife that Pawar held a meeting with the duo to switch NCP’s support to the Shinde-led government. Social Activist Anjali Damania had speculated that Pawar might have a saffron switch along with 10 to 15 NCP MLAs.
In the latest, the former deputy chief minister has denied these speculations. Top NCP sources also claimed that Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel do believe that joining hands with the BJP would save them from arrests in various cases.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted a charge sheet in the case, in which it has named a company linked to former Maharashtra Deputy CM & NCP leader Ajit Pawar and his wife, however, Pawar and his wife’s name was not mentioned in the chargesheet.
According to sources, the meeting held on late Wednesday speculates either Pawar switching sides or the former home minister thanking Shinde-Fadnavis duo for not mentioning his name on the chargesheet.
