New Delhi: Two days after the Congress party went on a hunger strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also go on a day-long fast on Thursday. The fast is to protest the Parliament washout in the recently concluded budget session.
PM Modi will be fasting in Delhi with all party MPs, while BJP president Amit Shah will be fasting in Hubli, Karnataka, where he is campaigning.
On Monday, the Congress party went on a five-hour fast, a ”Unity rally’, to promote communal harmony at Rajghat in New Delhi.
However, the fast was embellished by the presence of 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, and a photograph of Congress leaders having a Chhole Bhature breakfast ahead of the fast.
