Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar police apprehended five men who were allegedly planning for a robbery in Ekta Colony area.
The arrested accused include Raheel Shaikh Shabbir Shaikh (19), Yash Manoj Darokar (19), Aslam alias Asu Abdul Sharif Khan (20),Tausif Ansari Nawab Ansari (20), and Shaheed Ansari Sheikh Ansari (19). Acting on a tip, the police seized a sword, knife, rod, chilli powder, four mobile phones, and two vehicles from the accused.
The arrest prevented a potential criminal activity in the area, said police. An offence under Section 399 of Indian Penal Code was registered by the police.
Gold, cash worth Rs 5 lakh stolen in Kalamna
Cash and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh were stolen from a house in Kirtidhar Society in Gori Nagar under Kalamna Police Station,
According to police, Arun Gopalram Verma (48), an auto driver, and his family were attending a Bhajan programme at Chattarpur Farm House on December 30. Exploiting the empty house, burglars broke in and decamped with jewellery and Rs 20,000/- in cash from a cupboard. The incident was discovered when the Verma family returned home. Kalamna police have registered a case under Section 454 of Indian Penal Code and launch an investigation.
