Polio patient commits suicide

Nagpur News : “I am unable to walk and thus don’t want to depend on others no more,” wrote a 38-year-old woman, a polio patient before she ends her life on Wednesday evening. Vaishali Lahriya consumed poison at Shyam Nagar in Hudkeshwar police station area.

Since childhood, Vaishali was staying with her uncle-aunt. On Wednesday evening, Vaishali’s uncle and aunt had gone to a wedding nearby when she took the extreme step. They returned home around 10.40 to find Vaishali unconscious. She was declared brought dead at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

In the suicide note found by police, Vaishali wrote that she can’t walk and can’t live her life to full extent. She added that she don’t want to be a burden on her relatives and thus taking the extreme step. Vaishali mentioned that no one is responsible for her death. Hudkeshwar police has registered a case of an accidental death.
