Seema Sakhare, a city woman working towards various issues pertaining to women got the recognition she deserves, on the day when the world around celebrated Women’s Day. And she got that by none other than the honorable President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
Sakhare was presented with Mata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Award under Stree Shakti Puraskar 2013 at the grand ceremony organized in New Delhi on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Saturday. Stree Shakti Puraskar is held every year to honor the remarkable achievements of women working towards cause for women across the country.

Confirming the news, Seema Sakhare told Nagpur Today on phone that she received the national award for serving his bit towards women’s welfare. Sakhare expressed his gratitude towards the President for bestowing the honour. She also conveyed her thanks to all the women in Nagpur for extending their full hearted support in her endeavor.
Besides, many other women from all over the country were given award under various categories.
