Prime Minister Modi in Yavatmal on Feb 28

Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Yavatmal on February 28. Grand preparations are being made for his visit. Earlier, the Prime Minister was to visit Yavatmal on February 11 but it was cancelled for some reasons.

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Ministers are likely to reach Yavatmal by February 27. Modi will address a meeting of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at Bhari village on Yavatmal-Nagpur road. A grand pandal will be erected on the 40 acre land for the event. Efforts are on to accommodate over one lakh representatives of women’s SHGs.

Yavatmal Collector Dr Pankaj Ashiya and the entire administrative system has been on its toes for the visit. In all 30 committees have been formed under the chairmanship of Collector Dr Ashiya. The State Government will issue a programme brochure in four languages — English, Marathi, Sanskrit and Hindi.

This will be Modi’s fourth visit to Yavatmal. He had earlier been to the district when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2004. His public meeting was held at Postal Ground. Later, on March 20, 2014, before the Lok Sabha elections, he visited Dabhadi near Arni as the BJP candidate for the post of Prime Minister. After being elected, Modi had come to Pandharkawada for a women’s Self-Help Groups’ meet before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
