Nagpur: In a significant development, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Nagpur Rural police successfully apprehended the prime accused and two accomplices connected to the murder of a property dealer in Paoni town, Bhandara district. The suspects, identified as Sachin Parasram Pendharkar (37), a Nagpur resident; Roshan Balaji Bokde (35), also from Nagpur; and Mrunal alias Montu Arun Bhoyar (26), residing in Chikhali rehabilitation, Tehsil – Kuhi, were arrested on Monday.
The murder case involves Aditya alias Vinod alias Gotu Ashok Bondre, a 35-year-old resident of Telephone Nagar, who was brutally killed while traveling in a Fortuner SUV on Umred road on a Sunday afternoon. Bondre, the proprietor of Yashasvi Land Developers, shared a business partnership with Sachin and was involved in developing layouts on Umred road. However, the relationship soured due to Sachin’s involvement in cricket betting, leading to financial losses and disputes.

Police reports suggest that Sachin had invested money from plot owners (customers) in cricket betting, resulting in monetary conflicts. The inability to recover the funds invested in betting led to strained relations between Aditya and Sachin, culminating in frequent quarrels. The situation escalated when Aditya confronted Sachin over the money, resulting in verbal abuse and insults. Feeling insulted, Sachin devised a plan to murder Aditya, enlisting the help of Roshan and Mrunal.
The plan unfolded on a Sunday morning when Sachin enticed Aditya with an offer of affordable farmland for sale on Umred Road. They agreed to inspect the land in the afternoon. However, Sachin claimed his Scorpio SUV had mechanical issues around 11 am and requested Aditya to use his Fortuner SUV instead. Accompanied by his driver Satish Deulkar, Aditya arrived in the Dighori area around noon, where the assailants carried out a brutal attack in the Champa area. Sachin and Roshan stabbed Aditya with a knife before fleeing the scene in Sachin’s Scorpio SUV.
Following a tip-off, the police swiftly arrested the suspects in Paoni, Bhandara district. The arrest, led by SP Harssh Poddar and Add SP Dr. Sandip Pakhale, was executed by PI LCB Omprakash Kokate and his team, including Arvind Bhagat, Gajendra Choudhary, Mayur Dhekle, Sanjay Bante, Rakesh Talewar, Ashutosh Lanjewar, Sumit Bangde, and Satish Rathod. The accused were presented in court, and their custody has been secured until January 25.
