Property Cell seizes Jhulelal Developers’ 9-acre land worth Rs 36 crore


Nagpur: Close on the heels of Property Cell of Nagpur Crime Branch seizing 35 acres of land worth Rs 40 crore belonging to Jham Builders and Developers on the charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust, cops have seized 9 acres of land worth Rs 36 crore of Jhulelal Developers and booked seven persons including four partners, Sub-Registrar, Talathi and Divisional Officer.

The action is the outcome of a complaint lodged by Roshan Minhaldas Jodhani with Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham. Subsequently, the said complaint was probed by Property Cell Police Inspector Vazir Sheikh under the guidance of Joint Commissioner of Police Shivaji Bodkhe and DCP (EOW) Shweta Khedkar. An offence No. 74/17 under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC was registered with Kotwali Police Station on 16.5.2017 against Jhulelal Developers. Four partners of Jhulelal Developers namely Omprakash Gokuldas Bajaj, Sukhdeo Premchand Bhagchandani, Jaiprakash Gokuldas Bajaj, Suresh Gokuldas Bajaj, Sub-Registrar-3, Nara Talathi, and Divisional Officer, Sitabuldi were booked in the case. Out of these seven accused, two accused Omprakash Gokuldas Bajaj and Sukhdeo Premchand Bhagchandani were arrested on 16.5.2017. They are present released on bail.

Meanwhile, the two accused Jaiprakash Gokuldas Bajaj and Suresh Gokuldas Bajaj who had forged sale deed approached Mediation Centre of District and Sessions Court and submitted an application for cancellation of the said sale deed. The formality of cancellation of the sale deed was completed in the Lok Adalat held on 8.6.2017. With this, the way is cleared for returning the land worth Rs 36 crore to the complainant Roshan Minhaldas Jodhani.

Similarly, to prevent third party claim and sale of the land by the accused Omprakash Bajaj, Jaiprakash Bajaj, and Suresh Bajaj, the Property Cell Police Inspector has on 30.6.2017 sought permission of DCP Shweta Khedkar and seized the 9-acre land situated at Mauza Nara Khasra No. 200/3, 200/4 and 200/4. The 9-acre land is worth Rs 36 crore. A notice board in this regard has also been put up at the seized land.
