Property dealer demands extortion money from couple but gets his office ransacked and locked; 5 persons booked

extortion-logoNagpur: An extortion money demand from a couple proved costly for a man dealing in landed property. The couple turned the tables on the man by ransacking his office and locking it down. The accused man was also doled out a life threat. In the case of complaint-counter complaint, five persons, including two women, have been booked.

The dubious episode began when a 34-year old woman along with husband went to Small Factory Area in Bagadganj to inspect Plot No. 139 apparently for purchasing it. When the couple was inspecting the plot around 11 am on Wednesday, the accused Ritesh Omprakash Acharya (40) and his one accomplice accosted them. The accused Ritesh caught hold of the woman’s right hand and pulled her close to him and at the same time his accomplice held both hands of her husband in order to neutralize him. Both Ritesh and his accomplice abused the couple and threatened to kill them. The accused demanded 20 percent amount of plot purchase. Anyhow the couple managed the tricky situation and later lodged a complaint with Lakadganj police.

PSI Dubey booked the accused Ritesh Acharya and his accomplice under Sections 354, 384, 506(B), 294, 34 of IPC and started investigation into the matter.

On the other hand, turning the tables on Ritesh Acharya, resident of Itwari, two women and a man named Mammu Tiwari came to his office Balaji Enterprises, situated at Plot No. 139, Small Factory Area, Bagadganj between 11 am and 11.30 am on the same day. The two women and Tiwari started ransacking the office and threw out the material and closed it with their own lock. Ritesh was also doled out life threat by the two accused women and Tiwari. Taken aback by the development, Ritesh approached Lakadganj police and lodged a complaint in this connection.

PSI Dubey this time booked the two women and Tiwari under Sections 452, 447, 448, 506, 34 of IPC and investigating the matter further.
