Nagpur: Three persons including the key accused allegedly involved in the murder case of a property dealer were apprehended by the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Nagpur Rural police from Paoni town in Bhandara district on Monday.
According to police sources, the prime accused in the murder case had invested the money of plot owners (customers) in cricket betting which led to monetary disputes that ultimately resulted into murder. After the arrest of the accused — Sachin Parasram Pendharkar (37), a resident of Nagpur; Roshan Balaji Bokde (35), a resident of Nagpur; and Mrunal alias Montu Arun Bhoyar (26), a resident of Chikhali rehabilitation, Tehsil Kuhi — the police presented them in court and secured their custody until January 25.

According to police, Aditya alias Vinod alias Gotu Ashok Bondre, a 35-year-old resident of Telephone Nagar, was murdered by the accused while travelling in a Fortuner SUV on Umred Road on a Sunday afternoon. Bondre, the owner of Yashasvi Land Developers with an office in the Dighori area, was the business partner of Sachin, both involved in developing layouts on Umred road. However, Sachin’s addiction to cricket betting and subsequent financial losses strained their partnership, said police.
Due to Sachin’s failure to recover money invested in betting on behalf of plot owners, Aditya and Sachin’s friendship deteriorated into enmity marked by frequent quarrels over monetary disputes. Recently, Aditya confronted Sachin over the money and verbally abused him which led to Sachin feeling insulted. As a result, Sachin hatched a plan to murder Aditya and enlisted the assistance of Roshan and Mrunal.
On Sunday morning, Sachin lured Aditya by offering affordable farmland for sale on Umred Road. They agreed to inspect the land in the afternoon. Around 11 am, Sachin informed Aditya that his Scorpio SUV had mechanical issues and requested him to come with his Fortuner SUV. Aditya, accompanied by his driver Satish Deulkar, arrived in the Dighori area at approximately 12 noon.
Upon reaching the Champa area, the accused carried out a brutal attack. Sachin and Roshan stabbed Aditya with a knife and fled the scene. Later, they escaped in Sachin’s Scorpio SUV. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the accused in Paoni, Bhandara district.
The arrest, guided by SP Harssh Poddar and Add SP Dr Sandip Pakhale, was executed by PI LCB Omprakash Kokate and staff, including Arvind Bhagat, Gajendra Choudhary, Mayur Dhekle, Sanjay Bante, Rakesh Talewar, Ashutosh Lanjewar, Sumit Bangde, and Satish Rathod.
