Nagpur: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Central Budget in Parliament yesterday. Alleging that the budget discriminates against Maharashtra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar and the Samajwadi Party have jointly protested in Nagpur. Both parties condemned this budgetary decision.
It has been suggested that while Maharashtra, which contributes significantly to tax revenues, expected some benefits from the budget, nothing substantial has materialized so far.
In response, Sharad Pawar, President of the NCP, staged demonstrations in the city on Wednesday. Workers of the NCP and Samajwadi Party also made announcements opposing the Central Government and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.”
