Nagpur: The well-known automobile dealer Provincial Automobiles was systematically duped to the tune of Rs 6.20 lakh by three persons, including a husband-wife duo, in a car purchase deal. The role of Finance Manager of the automobile dealer reportedly is also under cloud.

According to sources, the complainant Administrative Manager of Provincial Automobile, situated at G/17-18, Central MIDC Road, MIDC, Girish Laxmanrao Bobde told police that the accused husband-wife duo Santosh Upadhyay (42) and Anju Santosh Upadhyay (35), residents of Pension Nagar, Anant Nagar, had earlier booked a Mahendra Scorpio car at the Provincial Automobiles and had also made a down payment of Rs 4.40 lakh, Rs 3 lakh in cash and Rs 1.40 lakh by a cheque. However, for reasons, the Upadhyay couple cancelled the deal and were subsequently returned the amount. But between 25.1.2016 and 23.5.2016, the alleged Finance Manager of Provincial Automobiles Bhushan Bhaskar Hiwse (34) of Ambika Nagar, Manewada Road, and the husband-wife duo, with nefarious designs in the mind, booked a TUV 300 car worth Rs 10.79 lakh in Anju’s name. And with the help of forged documents, secured a finance of Rs 6.20 lakh reportedly from Shriram Finance.

In the meanwhile, the accused Finance Manager Bhushan Hiwse, forged documents and also showed the earlier down payment of Rs 4.40 lakh of cancelled Scorpio deal in the current booking of TUV 300 car of Anju Upadhyay and handed over lowly priced KUV 100 2 DSIV car worth Rs 6.19 lakh. The accused Bhushan Hiwse is said to be an old friend of accused Santosh Upadhyay.

MIDC API Kale, based on the complaint of Bobde, has booked the three accused under Sections 408, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.

However, confusion prevails whether the Provincial Automobiles got defrauded or the finance company in the car deal.
