Nagpur: An expert committee of Public Works Department (PWD) is soon going to submit its report over a dispute surrounding Nagpur Metro Rail and Ramjhula projects. This information was given to Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court by Maharashtra Government. Subsequently, the Court fixed January 7 as the next date for hearing the matter further. The hearing was done before the Division Bench of Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justice Z A Haq.
It is learnt that the dispute arose between the two projects as the planners of Nagpur Metro Rail are sensing that Ramjhula is creating hurdles in the ambitious project. According to the drawn plans, the route of Metro Rail is taking turn on the left side towards Santra Market. Therefore, the Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) plans to construct pillars between both the roads of Ramjhula.
However, the State Government is advising the NMRCL to not to go ahead with plan. Intervening in the contentious issue, the High Court has asked the concerned departments to sit together and resolve the dispute as the matter is of public interest.
