Rahul, Sonia, Priyanka, Kharge to address mega rally on Dec 28 in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Nagpur City unit of Congress is gearing up for its mega rally to be held on December 28 at Dighori ground. Various committees are holding their meetings for micro planning. The Congress leaders have claimed that a crowd of 10 lakh would be part of the mega rally where Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, will remain present.

On Sunday, Nagpur City (District) Congress Committee convened a meeting at Devadia Bhavan to review the preparations of mega rally. In the meeting, the leaders appealed that 2,000 people from each ward should participate.

B M Sandeep, Secretary of All India Congress Committee; Vikas Thakre, City Congress President; Vilas Muttemwar, former Minister; Dr Nitin Raut, former Minister; Dr Satish Chatuvedi, Kunal Raut, Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress President; Nitin Kumbhalkar, Ramkrishna Ojha, Atul Kotecha, Vishal Muttemwar, Dr Gajraj Hatewar were the prominent among those present.

During the period of 1920 to 1947 and 1980-2000, the power of Congress has prevailed in the entire country. The leaders present in the meeting said that MLA Vikas Thakre is a symbol of Nagpur city’s leadership. That is why city officials, block officials, cell frontal officials should understand the responsibility of bringing at least 2,000 people from each ward for the mega rally.

Vikas Thakre said, “Everyone needs to unite and show the strength of Congress. If the loyal workers of the party participate in the mega rally and it becomes a great success then, it will definitely benefit the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha, Assembly and Corporation elections. The reception committee will be present at the airport and railway station to welcome our leaders. Banner, posters will be put on display. Various committees have been formed by the Congress Committee. The meetings of all the six Assembly constituencies and all cell and frontal blocks are arranged.”

B M Sandip informed the gathering that Rahul Gandhi had completed 4,000 km Bharat Jodo Yatra. “In these 4 days of mega rally meetings, proper planning should be done involving workers from wards and booths to get maximum number of people in the mega rally as it will send a good message. We are confident that Congress would get majority in Lok Sabha, Assembly polls,” pointed out Sandip.

Dr Nitin Raut, Satish Chaturvedi, Vilas Muttemwar pointed out that the mega rally would send a good message among party workers. They also appealed all the workers to work with unity.

Prof Dinesh Banabakode, Sandesh Singalkar, Sanjay Mahakalkar, Sanjay Dubey, Purushottam Hazare, Nanda Parate, Raman Paigwar, Ramesh Punekar, Sandeep Sahare, Women’s President Nash Ali, Seva Dal President Pravin Agre, NSUI President Anirudh Pandey were present. Dr Gajraj Hatewar conducted the programme while Atul Kotecha, State General Secretary proposed a vote of thanks.
