‘Green corridor’:
According to reports, a special traffic arrangement plan has been carved out by police officials to avoid traffic jams during the India-Australia T20 cricket match on Friday. The police will create a ‘green corridor’ for movement of vehicles from Jamtha to Rahate Colony Square without any delay.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar chaired a meeting of top police officials for discussing point-to-point security and traffic arrangements on Tuesday. A ‘Green Corridor’ is a special traffic-free route for moving of vehicles in one direction. Signals of the squares will be operated manually by the police personnel during the ‘green corridor’. CP Kumar informed reporters that the movement would be monitored through Command and Control Centre to avoid traffic congestion after the match. Quick Response Team personnel will be deployed on the route from the hotels, where the teams are staying, to VCA’s Jamtha Stadium for the security of the players.

Police personnel will be deployed among the viewers in plain clothes to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the stadium. A total of 254 CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor every movement in the Jamtha area. It also includes four mobile surveillance vehicles. As per the plan, whopping 2,000 police personnel including seven Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 35 Police Inspectors, 138 Assistant Inspectors of Police (APIs) and Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) will be deployed in the stadium during the match, the CP said. More than 40 metal detectors, door frame monitors would be installed at all entry points as security measures.
