Nagpur: After a short break, rains returned to Nagpur and parts of Vidarbha. Though there have not been any reports of major damage, the heavy spell kept vehicular traffic off the roads in several areas causing huge traffic snarls across the city as roads were flooded and inundating low-laying areas.
Starting intermittently around 1.30 p.m., the rains picked up pace, turned into a downpour by 2 p.m. and lasted for over two hours in and around the city.The city is experiencing moderate to heavy rains.
With these heavy showers city streets were seen flooded, Water-logging at Shankar Nagar Square, Ramdaspeth, Panchsheel Square, Narendra Nagar, Great Naag Road, near Baidyanath Chowk and other spots caused inconvenience to the travelers for a while. Apart from water-logging, some areas also faced power cuts causing inconvenience to those who were indoors.
The administration has sounded an alert for the safety of residents in low line areas.
