Nagpur: A student of Raisoni Engineering College died in a ghastly road accident near Dattawadi Defence Gate on Amravati Road on Thursday afternoon.
According to police sources, the deceased Vaibhav Pawankumar Mishra (19), resident of Smruti Nagar, Dattawadi, was returning home after college on his Avenger-150 motorcycle (MH-40/AZ 574) around 1 pm on Thursday. He was proceeding from MIDC to Nagpur-Amravati Road on his way to home. After reaching the road, Vaibhav took a turn for Smruti Nagar near Defence Gate. At the same time, a speeding truck (CG-04/JC 7075) zoomed past Vaibhav.
Unfortunately, the rear side of the truck hit Vaibhav on his head and he fell on the road with great force. He received grievous injury to head and died on the spot. Had Vaibhav wore helmet, the accident would not have been fatal for him.
