Gangster Raju Bhadre and his gang members allegedly grabbed 17 plots of the trader. They also issued life threats to him.
Nagpur News: Nandanvan police have booked gangster Raju Bhadre and his gang members on the charges of grabbing plots of an Iron and Steel businessman, attempt to extort Rs 50 lakh from him at gun point, doling out threats to kill him if their demand not met and other crimes.
According to police, Girdhari Sohanlal Agrawal (55), resident of East Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur, is Iron and Steel Trader. He had purchased plots numbering 23 to 39 in Mouza Vathoda Khasra No. 97/1. The Registry of all these 17 plots has legally been done with Nagpur Improvement Trust as Non-Agriculture land. In his complaint to Nandanvan police, Girdhari Agrawal said that the gangster Raju Bhadre and his accomplices Kiran Kaithe, Ayub Khan, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Hiralal Namdeo Tupkar, and others forcibly grabbed his plots in October 2013. The gangster Raju Bhadre and his accomplices not only occupied his plots but also started issuing life threats to Girdhari Agrawal. The gangster and others stormed into Agrawal’s Anant Steel Company’s office located in Shastri Nagar and threatened to kill him. The criminals then demanded Rs 50 lakh as “Haptha” (extortion money) from Agrawal at gun point. (However, it could not be ascertained whether Agrawal paid the money or not). Girdhari Agrawal further informed police that the gangster Raju Bhadre and his accomplices uprooted cement polls and compound wires worth Rs 50,000 and took away with them. The goons then occupied his all 17 plots.
Girdhari Agrawal further informed police that one of the gang members Hiralal Namdeo Tupkar allegedly in connivance with officials of NIT, NMC, Town Planning Department, Registrar’s Office converted Agrawal’s land in Vathoda into Agriculture Land and prepared bogus Registry of the land in his name. When Agrawal came to know about this illegal act, he lodged the complaint against all the accused.
Nandanvan PSI Thakur, acting on the complaint of Giridhar Agrawal, has booked accused gangster Raju Bhadre and his gang members under Sections 143, 147, 148, 387, 452, 506(B), 447, 379, 120(B) and Sub-Sections 3+25 of the IPC and is investigating the matter further.
It may be recalled, one of the gang members booked by police is Kiran Kaithe, a close accomplice of Raju Bhadre. Kiran Kaithe along with Raju Bhadre was an accused in Pintu Shirke murder case. Kiran Kaithe has been released on bail. He was awarded life term in the murder case. It could possibly be the first instance that a convict undergoing life term has been released on bail. Once outside the jail, Kiran Kaithe and Raju Bhadre allegedly again became active in the crime world. According to Girdhar Agrawal, the gangster Raju Bhadre and his gang have resorted to grabbing plots in Ambazari, Kalamna and Nandanvan areas and are allegedly doling out life threats to the owners of the plots.
