Rakesh Mishra had a previous altercation with Arjun Dandekar and Ganesh Dandekar over property-related matters. Moreover, Aamir was reportedly upset about verbal abuse from Mishra. The situation escalated further due to an ongoing property dispute involving Mishra and Deepak Verma. This led Verma to give the murder contract to Ganesh Dandekar, who roped in other killers.

The murder was carried out by the assailants when Rakesh Mishra and Ravi Bachchan Jaiswal (25) were sitting near a bus stop close to their residence. The assailants attacked them with knives and swords, resulting in the death of Mishra and injuries to Ravi. Ravi’s statement to the police indicated that Arjun and Ganesh Dandekar, along with their accomplices, carried out the attack. The assailants were absconding after committing the crime.
