Nagpur: The fortnight from September 16 to 30, 2016 has been declared as Swachhata Pakhwada by Government of India. All Government offices have been advised to observe this fortnight to create a drive for cleanliness of not just their premises, but also of public areas in their cities by Shramdaan and to create awareness drives for students and citizens of the city.

Employees of these offices will also take a pledge to maintain clean surroundings and administer such pledges to as many people as possible. Raman Science Centre and Planetarium has been working hard in this direction and conducting various drives since September 16, 2016. As a culmination of this fortnight, special programmes for the awareness of the public will be organized on September 29, 2016 as follows:
