Nagpur: Madhuri Sarda remains elusive as police continue their efforts to arrest her in connection with the Mercedes accident on Ramjhula. Her friend, Ritu Malu, who is also accused in the case, surrendered at Tehsil Police Station on Monday. The incident resulted in the deaths of two youths, and Ritu Malu had been absconding for over four months after driving a Mercedes while intoxicated and running over the victims. On Monday at 12:45 PM, Ritu Malu turned herself in at the Tehsil Police Station, where she was subsequently arrested. The police then took her for a medical examination at Mayo Hospital and decided to keep her in custody for one day.

Accused Ritu Malu Surrenders
After evading the police for over four months, Ritu Malu finally appeared at the Tehsil Police Station. She will be presented in court on Tuesday, where the police will request custody. In the case involving the deaths of two youths in the Mercedes accident on Ramjhula, the police need to obtain answers to several questions from Ritu. They plan to request Police Custody Remand (PCR) from the court. Notably, after Ritu’s bail application was rejected, the police formed multiple teams to apprehend her and also detained and interrogated all her family members. Her location was continuously tracked through technical means, and the mobile phones of her relatives were monitored.
Why Wasn’t a Medical Examination Conducted?
On the night of February 25, Nagpur police did not conduct a medical examination to determine if the two accused women were intoxicated. How were they allowed to go free? It is known that around 1:30 AM on February 25, a horrific Mercedes accident occurred near Nagpur Railway Station on Ramjhula.
Where Was Ritu While Absconding?
Questions are being raised about Ritu Malu’s whereabouts during her time on the run. Who helped her, provided financial support, and maintained contact with her during this period? The police need to obtain answers to these questions from Ritu. After being on the run for an extended period, Malu had no choice but to surrender to the Tehsil Police on Monday afternoon. Her arrest has provided some relief to the police.
